Wonderful to wake up to waves crashing on a lighthouse.- Try it!
On Karmøy you can stay in three completely different lighthouse homes:
Vikeholmen fyr Lighthouse (see picture above)
Although Vikeholmen is located, so to speak, in the middle of the harbor in Skudeneshavn, you get the feeling of being far out in the archipelago. Svaberg and sheltered bays characterize the landscape. At the same time, there are remnants of former residential buildings, and at times more than 30 people have lived on the island. At the lighthouse, the boats pass just outside the living room window. There are beds for 10 here and a boat is available. For accommodation in scenic surroundings with fantastic views, contact

Høyvarde light station was established in 1700, and has been an important lighthouse in Karmsundet, formerly called Nordvegen. Høyevarde is about 60 acres of natural landscape, and is located like a hidden, untouched treasure inside Hydro's facility on Karmøy. Høyevarde has comfortable rooms, up-to-date meeting rooms, a stately dining room, beautiful gardens and, not least, tranquility.Inside the area there is a Bronze Age grave from 1500 BC. Høyevarde is mentioned in English history books. The Earl of Bothwell, Queen Mary Stuart's lover, was captured at Høyevarde after his escape from Scotland. The whole of Høyevarde is protected by the National Antiquities. T: +47 52 71 22 01 www.hoyevardefyrhotell.no
